Zondag 11 november om 13:00 uur wordt bij de NTR deel één van de serie Componeren in Nederland uitgezonden. Dit keer staat de film van Carine Bijlsma over Mayke Nas centraal.
In de serie ‘Componeren in Nederland’ worden componisten gefilmd op de plek waar zij werken aan hun composities. Op het moment dat zij het meest ‘kwetsbaar’ zijn, integer en zonder opsmuk. In deel één staat Mayke Nas centraal. Haar werken staan bekend om hun humor en ironie. Nas maakt graag muziek voor gelijkademende musici, bewegende stoelen, tikkende krijtborden en openstaande bruggen.

Tansy Davies (Bristol, 1973) is an English composer of modern classical and avant-garde works. She studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and Royal Holloway College, won the BBC Young Composers' Competition in 1996 and has written works for the London Symphony Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra a.o.
Spine is the title of her new cd - one reaction from the press: It's hard to think of another British composer whose rise through the hierarchy of British music has been so rapid, fuelled by high-profile commissions.
