Hanna Kulenty's Viola Concerto Nº 1 (Rotterdam Concerto No. 5) was written in 2015, especially for the 50 year anniversary of De Doelen in Rotterdam. The positive reactions to an earlier work, Viola-Viva led Kulenty to make an orchestral version with the same solist, Geneviève Strosser, viola.
