The Marsyas Trio is one of the rare chamber music ensembles devoted entirely to the performance of music written for flute, cello and piano.The trio was formed by three alumnae of the Royal Academy of Music, London: Australian flautist Helen Vidovich, Canadian cellist Valerie Welbanks and pianist Fei Ren from New Zealand
A Triple Portrait is the title of a new release with chamber music by Elena Firsova. Call it an anthology, with solo works, duos and trios and additional participation of singers Maacha Deubner and Hannah Predley, string players Patrick Dawkins and Morgan Goff.
The title of the CD takes its name from the commissioned piece the trio received from Elena Firsova in 2011 which will be featured in Radio Monalisa on September 6, 2015.
