Sarah Hennies (Kentucky, 1979) is a composer and percussionist whose work is concerned with a variety of musical, sociopolitical, and psychological issues including queer & trans identity, psychoacoustics, and the social and neurological conditions underlying creative thought. With ensemble 0 (two percussionists), Talea Ensemble and Ensemble Dedalus.
I’m just so happy that this album is out. I wouldn’t say it’s the best thing I’m ever going to make, but it certainly is the best thing I’ve made thus far. It feels like I’m composing a person. A vivid, rich picture of a life, of a brain. — Sarah Hennies
